Managing Spaces (Beds/Rooms)
Page Header: "Spaces - Manage shelter spaces and bed assignments across all locations"
Spaces represent individual beds, rooms, or bunks within a shelter.
Stats Overview
At the top of the page, you'll see 4 summary cards:
Total Spaces
Default
All spaces across your shelters
Available
Green
Spaces that can be assigned
Occupied
Red
Spaces with households assigned
Maintenance
Yellow
Spaces temporarily unavailable
Filtering and Sorting
Filters
Search
Search by space code
Shelter
All Shelters, or select specific shelter

Creating a Space
Click + Add Space
Fill in the form:
Space Code
Yes
Unique identifier (e.g., "Room 101", "Bed A-1")
Shelter
Yes
Select which shelter
Space Type
No
Bed, Bunk, Apartment Unit, Congregate, Other
Available
No
Toggle Available/Unavailable
Minimum Capacity
No
Smallest household size
Maximum Capacity

Largest household size
First Available Date

When space becomes available
Next Available Date

For maintenance - when it comes back online
Maintenance Notes

Explain why space is unavailable
Click Create Space
Editing a Space
Click the Edit (pencil) icon on the space row
Modify fields as needed
Click Save
Duplicating a Space
To quickly create similar spaces:
Click the Duplicate (copy) icon on an existing space
A new space form opens with values pre-filled
Change the Space Code to make it unique
Click Create Space
Deleting a Space
Click the Delete (trash) icon
Confirm the deletion
Warning: This cannot be undone.
Taking a Space Offline (Maintenance)
Find the space and click Edit
Toggle Available to Unavailable
Set Next Available Date if you know when it will be back
Add Maintenance Notes explaining why (e.g., "Plumbing repair")
Save changes
The space will automatically become available again on the Next Available Date (if set).
Pagination
At the bottom of the list:
Items per page: 10, 25, 50, or 100
Previous/Next buttons with page indicator
Last updated
